Welcome back to On My Mind, in My Shopping Bag! - The Inside Pocket series where I round up what I’ve bought this month, what’s still sitting patiently on my wishlist, and all the bits and pieces I genuinely think are worth your time (and money).
This month has been a particularly fun one, full of new discoveries, unexpected new entries, and plenty of inspiration from all over. So without further ado, here we go!
You can now contribute to The Inside Pocket's growth without strings attached! If you can’t commit to a monthly or annual subscription but would still like to support, you can offer me a symbolic coffee below.
Starting From The Basics (again)
You loved my basics suggestions last time and because one can never have too many, I’ve gathered a few more for this month. I'm finally saying goodbye to my now very misshapen, wannabe-white, years-old T-shirts. It really was time.
I managed to snap up a few new long- and short-sleeved tops from Skims and I’m so in love. I picked up this white tee as a more relaxed, lighter alternative to my beloved Uniqlo U one, which I still adore, but it’s a little thicker and can be a challenge on warmer days.
Among the other tops that made it to my doorstep: a one-shoulder cotton bodysuit in brown by Skin (super versatile for the summer months), and this long-sleeved black top, Skims again.

Still sitting patiently in my wishlist: the Sidonie Pleated Top and the Giulietta Pintuck Top by Rue Sophie. Two beautiful options for summer nights and office days. And on a more casual note, there’s this Collector T-shirt from the latest collaboration between Sotheby’s and Frame. A bit pretentious? Maybe. But I’m here for it.

The Bags
It might sound dramatic, but this Freja bag genuinely changed my life. I didn’t think I needed another black shoulder bag — but the truth is, since Freja sent me the Chrystie, I haven’t put it down. Not only is she incredibly sleek and elegant, but she’s the perfect middle ground between the mini shoulder bags I gravitate towards for evenings and the oversized totes I rely on for office days. You can fit everything (and then some) without looking like you’re about to argue with a Ryanair attendant over cabin bag restrictions. So happy to have her in my collection, I have a feeling she’ll be a loyal companion all year round. Welcome to the team, Chrystie!
Another bag that made it into my collection (courtesy of the unmissable Jil Sander sale I attended last week) is the red Bunny Bag you see below. And while I was tempted by lighter shades like beige and light green, the bunny who hopped home with me was indeed, red. The Jil Sander Bunny Bag has all the classic minimalism you’d expect from Jil, but with a playful twist. Launched for Spring/Summer 2024, it’s made of ultra-soft sheepskin, knotted ears, and has just enough charm to make even the most serious outfit smile. I had to get it.

On the topic of bags patiently waiting to be bought, we have these two. The Camilla Clutch by Cult Gaia — perfect for any summer outfit and reminiscent of a shell (an object I’m quite obsessed with at the moment). And the Large Money Bag by Folklore, in the dreamiest deep olive green. As you know, I don’t particularly love summer fashion, so the presence of this beauty in my wishlist gives me comfort: a reminder that autumn isn’t too far away. In general, I’m very into little money pouch bags like this, and I’m on the hunt for similar shapes. Let me know if you have any brand recommendations with a similar style!
The Shoes
I always land on a good old loafer in summer. Considering London is often quite wet, I feel a little safer opting for those. But during the occasional hottest days of the year, I needed a safe alternative that could keep my outfits a bit refined without making me feel like I’m boiling from the roots up. The pair I got are the woven black Sta.gni sandals below, discounted by 60% on Net-a-Porter, quite the steal!
The pair I’m still contemplating are the A.emery flip-flops shown below. They’re very beautiful and seem incredibly comfortable, but it’s really a question of whether I can fully embrace the flip-flop-in-the-city vibe. There’s something about them that makes me feel so naked; my foot feels exposed, too free and vulnerable…am I crazy? How do you feel about flip-flops?

The Objects
There are some things in this world that just give me an inexplicable visual fulfilment. I’m talking about objects of any kind —like a good set of knives, a perfectly imperfect shell, or little details like how the spaghetti accidentally decided to lie in my bowl. I live for these tiny things, and sometimes I can’t quite explain (at least without sounding completely mental) how much joy they bring me.
That’s why there are always such random objects in my wishlist, and the chosen items on my June list are the coquillage ceramic box below, this silver and stone mug and its matching teapot by Natalia Craido, plus some more functional pieces already on their way to me, like the magnetic (in every sense) knife stand by Material, paired with their colourful knives. The knives are not mine yet, simply because that colourway is currently sold out!
And what about you, what are the objects that bring you the most joy?

The Accessories
I’m a sucker for accessories, and if you’ve been here before, you probably know that pretty well. I’m always on the hunt for new jewellery to add to my collection, and considering my style is quite minimal, a personality piece is basically mandatory.
That’s why I fell in love with the Jil Sander pendant below, which came home with me after the JS sample sale for far less than its original price. (I’m rarely all in for designer jewellery, most of the time you’re paying for the branding, not the craftsmanship. So to be fair, I wouldn’t have gone for it if it hadn’t been so incredibly discounted.)
Still on my wish list: these two masterpieces by Shannon Bond—officially my new jewellery crush. The Moon earrings and the Shangri-La earrings, both in white, would look so gorgeous with an all-white outfit and maybe a bit of tan and summer glow.
Shopping or not, I really hope you enjoyed and got inspired by the survivors on my wishlist and now wardrobe! Let me know what’s on yours and please feel free to share alternatives to anything I listed here xx
Thank you for your support and love, as always.
With love,
Giulia xx
