The Year Of The Horse
Equestrian brooches, jewellery, books, and home decor to welcome the new year
I’ve never really agreed with the whole new year, new me idea. I prefer something more like — new year, better me. Better choices, better rhythms, a better way of living with what I already am, rather than trying to reinvent myself every January.
This way of thinking happens to align quite nicely with Chinese New Year, which has always felt more thoughtful than abrupt to me. We are not wiping the slate clean overnight, we are talking about cycles, energy, and intention — moving forward with awareness rather than urgency.
This year welcomes the Year of the Horse, a sign associated with freedom, movement, resilience, and independence. In Chinese astrology, the horse is spirited, intuitive, elegant, and deeply loyal — a symbol of progress. It’s about choosing direction over speed, trusting instinct, and having the courage to keep going, even when the path isn’t perfectly mapped out.
It probably won’t surprise you that the horse is also my favourite animal. I’ve always felt deeply connected …
